An
accelerometer or "G" meter registers the G forces acting on the
airframe. This knowledge can be critical while flying aerobatic maneuvers
or in turbulence. One pointer provides an instantaneous reading
of the load the aircraft is experiencing, the other two
indicate maximum positive and negative loads
respectively.
Limit indicators are
rest to 1-G by pushing the cage / reset knob. This instrument is entirely
self-contained, no wiring required.
This instrument is very popular with experimental aircraft
builders/pilots due to
its ease of readability. It is the same format and size as back-up g-meters found
in many military aircraft.
Fits a standard
2-1/4" instrument cutout.
